OGUN EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH VOCATIONAL SKILL ACQUISITION


The Ogun State government has shown commitment to empowerment women of the state through vocational skill acquisition in oder for them to be independent and in turn be employer of labour.


The state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Funmi Efuwape made this known in Abeokuta st the Final Assessment of the trainees of 2020 set of Women Development Center, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta.


Efuwape, who explained that the exercise was aimed at bringing out the selling points of the trainees, so as to be outstanding among the  many in the field of catering, advised them to always give the best to their customers, as first impression last longer.

 

 She thereafter promised that after the final examination, any of the trainees that emerged the best would be duly compensated.

The Special Adviser to the governor on Women Affairs, Hon. Adijat Olaleye during her inspection tour to the final assessment of the 8th set of the trainees of the catering vocational skill appreciated the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun  for sustaing the program not minding the fact that covid 19 pandemic experience had affected the economy of the state.


Earlier, in her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Melutia Ogunremi said that the state government through the program would continue to  develop indigenous human resources as well as reduce the numbers of unemployed women in the state.


Speaking on behalf of the trainees, Miss Adubi Kehinde and  Awode Grace appreciated the state government and the Ministry for giving them the privilege, promising to put to practice everything learnt.
