DESIST FROM DUMPING REFUSE ON UNAUTHORISED PLACES-COUNCIL CHAIRMAN WARNS
The Transition Committee Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Banjo has warned traders in the Council Area to desist from the habit of dumping refuse on unauthorised places as the Environmental Task Force would be moving around from time to time, to apprehend and prosecute offenders.
Hon. Banjo, gave the charge while inspecting the construction of roads and drainages at Oba Erinwole II road in Sagamu, saying traders are to ensure the cleanliness of their market environs to promote wellbeing and a healthy society.
The Chairman, who condemned the indiscriminate dumping of refuse by some of the traders, said the drainages were constructed to pave way for water flow, imploring them to support the government in promoting a cleaner environment.
‘’During the rainy season people suffered a lot on this road because there are no drainages in this area, but we want to thank the government for the quick intervention through the Ogun State Public Works Agency (OGPWA). We don't want our traders to dump refuse in the drainages’’, Banjo said.
