The Italapo Health Centre, Ijebu-Ode, has received a boost through renovation and provision of equipment by the National Association of Nigerian Nurses residing in North America (NANNNA), in fulfilment of their 'Adopt a Primary Healthcare Centre Social ResponsibilityInitiative.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker while speaking during the commissioning via Zoom, described the gesture as exemplary, saying the
State Government has also embarked on renovation of all the health facilities since inception of the administration.
"Governor Dapo Abiodun has renovated one Primary Health Care Centre in each of the Local Governments and brought various equipment to our hospitals
while efforts are in top gear to flatten the curve of COVID-19 pandemic. We appreciate the kind gesture of NANNNA for picking Italapo Health Centre for
renovation", Coker said.
Also speaking, the Transition Committee Chairman, Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Engr. Olugbenga Olugbile applauded Association for the feat, saying it was a good way of contributing to community development.
The Council Boss who was delighted over the renovation done in the Local Government, implored officials at the center to make judicious use of the
facility.
Speaking via Zoom on behalf of NANNNA, Mrs.Titi Osinowo thanked the Commissioner for supporting them in making the renovation a reality, saying
the aim was to make the health center functional for the community.
Also speaking, the Head of Local Government and Administration of Ijebu-Ode, Dr. Adeolu Olufowobi, said the renovation and new equipment given to
the health center would go a long way at improving the service delivery of the center to the citizens.
The Highlight of the Event involved the Council Chairman, Engr olugbenga Olugbile Naming a New born baby at the Health Centre after Self as the baby was born 2 hours before the Commissioning of the health Centre.
