*OGUN COMMITTED TO CAPACITY BUILDING, LAUNCHES TECHHUB ACADEMY *

Ogun State Government remained committed to building the capacity of its workforce, as it launched the Ogun TechHub Academy, to foster effective and
efficient system of running government business, to keep workers abreast of the new normal situation in the world.

Speaking at the launch, which was in partnership with Cisco Network Academy, held at the Ogun TechHUB centre, Kobape, Abeokuta, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, underscored the benefit obtainable from Information and Communication Technology (ICT), saying, training offered at the academy would evaluate how technologically savvy, participants were towards building successful ventures.

He encouraged participants to appraise themselves on what they already know and further update their knowledge, as, “there is nothing one can do today
without the support and interaction with ICT”.

On his part, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Shuaib Salisu, said, "this area of capacity building extended to all Civil Servants is a remarkable one and first of its kind in the State", adding that the
training would bring significant values to the workforce and invariably to the State.


The State Head of Service, Alhaja Selimot Ottun in her remarks, said workers in the State were ready to adjust to the new normal, occasioned by
Covid-19 pandemic, commending the government for enhancing the capacity of its workforce.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, Mr. Dayo Abiodun, called on the general public to take advantage of the free training to develop themselves in every sector of life.

Contributing, Director of Information Technology, Mrs. Olatundun Adekunte assured that the training programme would be virtual for the general public
to avoid converging to further flatten the spread of Covid-19.

Commenting, Consultant to Cisco Network Academy, Mr. Tunji Akoni, commended Ogun State for leading in ICT and Cisco Programmes, saying that the
programme should be extended to secondary schools in the State.
