ABIODUN TURNS SOD OF ULTRA-MODERN FIRE SERVICE STATION
Ogun State Government, in conjunction with the Federal Government has turned the sod of an Ultra-modern fire service station in Owu-Dekudu Abeokuta.
Speaking at the ground breaking, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun expressed delight at the development, saying ‘’it is a testimony of a mutually beneficial relationship between the State and the Federal government’’, which would in turn improve the intervention of the State in protecting lives and property of the people.
Abiodun represented by the Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Mr. Femi Ogunbanwo, assured of necessary infrastructural development to enhance service delivery of the station, adding that the State had renovated nine Fire service stations, to further consolidate on the efficiency of the sector.
In his remarks, the State Commander, Federal Fire Services, Mr. Olatunde Obisesan said the facility would provide firefighting and suppression services to Abeokuta and its environs towards ensuring efficient service delivery in emergency situation and further meet the needs of the firefighters.
The Director, Ogun State Fire Service, Engr. Gbenga Dairo, commended the initiative, describing it as apt in assisting the fire service men to deliver their services promptly to the people.
