COVID - 19 : OGUN SSA ON AGRIC DISTRIBUTES PALLIATIVES TO IJEBU-ODE RESIDENTS.
As part of efforts at cushioning the effect of lockdown in the State, due to COVID-19 pandemic, The Senior Special Assistant on Agriculture to Ogun State Governor, Dr Angel Adelaja Kuye has distributed palliatives to the old and needy in Ijebu-Ode.
The palliatives consist 5Kg of rice, 25kg of garri, cartons of noodles, tin tomatoes and other condiments.
Speaking during the distribution of the palliatives in the area, Dr Kuye said with the global enormity of the pandemic and several challenges posed by the situation, necessitated the gesture.
" I want to specifically thank His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his efforts at curtailing the spread of COVID - 19 in the state as well as the provision of palliatives to our people. These palliatives are meant for the poor, aged and vulnerable in the society. I am happy to represent my people, especially in Ijebu-Ode. We count on our local government, churches, mosques and leaders in the community to give us information about those who are in need, for necessary assistance." she said.
She advised the people to continue to adhere strictly to the measures put in place by wearing face mask, regular hand washing, use of sanitizers, as well as ensuring social distancing.
Some of the beneficiaries of the palliatives, Mrs Regina Adenuga and Mrs Funmilayo Otukoya, appreciated the State Governor and SSA on Agric for the kind gesture, saying they were happy to be partakers of the palliatives which will save their households from hunger.
