*COVID-19: IJEBU ODE RESIDENTS BENEFITS FROM OGUN STIMULUS PACKAGE*
Ogun State Government in fulfilment of its promise of even distribution of relief materials across the State, residents of Ijebu-Ode also took turn to receive from the stimulus package, to ameliorate the pains of the lockdown directive by the Federal Government.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, TPL Yetunde Dina, while speaking with newsmen during an on the spot inspection of the distribution exercise said, The distribution which was the first phase of relief materials in the area was to support the people and make life easier for them during this critical period.
TPL Dina reiterated that the palliative measure put in place by the State Government was meant for the aged and vulnerable in the 11 wards of the Local Government Area, to assist them overcome the economic challenge associated with the covid-19 lockdown, assuring that those who could not receive from the first phase of the distribution would benefit from subsequent phases that would be distributed.
She however advised residents to keep to all protective guidelines and ensure that social distancing was encouraged in the best interest of all.
In his remarks, Chairman Transition Committee, Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Engr. Olugbenga Olugbile enjoined residents to abide with the directive of the Federal and State Governments, in their efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the state and other part of the country, stressing that the lockdown was in the best interest of the people.
While explaining methods of distribution adopted in the Council area, Olugbile said the names submitted by *Oloritun *of the various wards, who identified the vulnerable and aged in their various communities were duly followed, affirming that those who did not benefit from the first phase would receive from subsequent phases.
Also speaking a member of the State House of Assembly, representing Ijebu-ode, Aare Kemi Oduwole, described the Dapo Abiodun led
administration as a responsive Government by providing relief Materials to the people to cushion the effect of the Lock down, saying the environment
is peaceful and the distribution, orderly.
Expressing delight, some residents in areas where distribution took place, Mrs. sherifat Aroyehun, Mrs. Bolaji Oreyemi and Mrs. Silifatu Adebanwo commended the State Government for the economic stimulus put in place to reduce the negative effect of the ‘sit at home’ order.
The areas covered within the Local Government were; Imepe, Apebi, Isoku, Itantebo, Ereko, Italapo, Ayegbami, New Road, Onirugba, Isiwo and
Itamapako.
