DON'T DISPLAY WARES BY THE ROAD SIDE, COUNCIL BOSS WARNS TRADERS
Chairman, Transition Committee, Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Engr. Olugbenga Olugbile has warned traders against display of their goods by the roads side.
The Council Boss gave the warning while inspecting various markets in the Local Government Area recently.
Olugbile noted that display of wares by the road side obstructs traffic flow and causes grid lock of vehicles in the market, tasking traders to also imbibe the culture of cleanliness by disposing their refuse to designated locations where it will be carted away by the Council Waste Managers.
He added that traders that fail to comply immediately would be sanctioned as their goods would be seized by the Council Task Force.
“I want to appeal especially to traders, to desist from displaying their wares by the roadside, illegal display of wares by roadside would no longer be condoned as sanctions would be ditched out to any offender", he warned.
In her words, Iyaloja of Oke Aje Market, Alhaja Wuraola Kuforiji, pledged traders' readiness to comply with stipulated rules, appealing to the Council Boss to intervene by providing modern and electricity.
Also speaking, the Babaloja of Ita Ale market, Prince Kayode Adesanya also solicited for provision of security guards, construction of drainage and modern toilet.
Other markets visited include, Ayesan market, New market, Obanta market and Abattoir market in Yemule.
