OSCOHTECH begins Degree programmes in Affiliation with kwara University.

Ogun State College of health Technology, Ilese Ijebu-Ode has commence degree programmes in Environmental health science and other related science courses in Affiliation with kwara state University as the Affiliation between the college and the University is first of is kind in the southwest region.

The Affiliation was possible due to the fact that OSCOHTECH falls within the radius range that NUC permit Affiliation and also have available resources that satisfied the University in Affiliation with.

Speaking at the commencement of the Affiliation between the two Institutions, The Provost of OSCOHTECH, Dr Abiodun Oladunjoye thanked the Honourable Commissioner for Education, who was supportive in the quest to have a degree Affiliation with kwara state University and both the Academic and Non Academic staff of OSCOHTECH for the achievement.

" I want to thank Professor Wale Sawyer, an indigene of Ogun State for bringing the programme to his own state which will give what a good taste of Bachelor degree in Environmental science looks like. The programme is not run anywhere in this SouthWest, OSCOHTECH is the one that will first start the Affiliation." The Provost said.

Oladunjoye said the college will also have the opportunity to run degree programme in public health which is newly introduced while assuring that the standard of the Institution will not be compromise in any form saying it would be an envious programme that is going to outlived Everyone.

Also speaking, Dean of Allied health and Environmental science, Kwara state University,and facilitator of the programme Prof. Henry olawale Sawyer said the Affiliation is all about Extending a degree programme that kwara state University operate in the Allied health Sector and Extending that same programme here in OSCOHTECH.

" The Affiliation relationship has been able to outlined the different component of resources, manpower will be sort out within the Available resources here, The quality control standard which we hold very firm has been the mantra of the University, as community for University development. This is what we are Extending to our Affiliation at the centre is here in Ilese" The Prof. Said.

He said one important factor that aid the Affiliation is the long years and strength of OSCOHTECH in the Areas of health services and also felt that the initiatives will enable the student after completing there ND or HND programme to know that their is a future in Advancing to a degree Level.

It was also gathered that, the first set of students will commence with Environmental health science as a course first, while other courses such as public health, Nutrition and diatectic etc will come on board as time goes on while about 45 students has shown interest to kick start the programme.
