PUT YOUR EXPERIENCE INTO PRACTICE, LG BOSS CHARGES YOUTHS


The over 2,000 Youths who graduated from different vocational training programmes in
Ijebu-Ode have been urged to put into practice, the experiences garnered
during the training, so as to be self-reliance and contribute to economic
development of their domain.

Chairman of the Council, Arc Gbolade Oduwole who made the call at the graduation ceremony, said the
training programme which lasted for a month has undoubtedly impacted
meaningful knowledge into participants to enable them earn a living for
themselves.

"Every training session throughout this programme
went beyond theoretical aspect. Everyone was allowed to Practicalised what
they had learnt and this has given me a great joy and confidence that all
participants are employers of labour in the making", he said.

Also speaking, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs,
Chief Jide Ojuko, advised the Granduands not to sell their equipment,
‘’saying in Nigeria today, professional skills are the order of the day and
if you are so lucky to be given any equipment here, ensure you use them
judiciously’’.

 Ojuko then commended Arc Gbolade Oduwole’s
administration for the empowerment programmes, calling on other Local
Government Chairmen to emulate their colleague by empowering youths in
their areas to reduce unemployment in the State.

His Counterpart
in the Ministry of Community development and Cooperatives, Hon. Gbenga
Adenmosun, said his Ministry would give the Granduands necessary support by liaising them with cooperative societies in the State, to enable them have
access to loan facilities.

The Empowerment Programme was put
together by a Non Governmental Organization, Necessary Measures Against
Poverty and Perversity (NEMAPP), in collaboration with Ijebu-Ode Local
Government, to train Over 2000 people in different Vocational skills,
including photography, fish farming, fashion design, barbing, decoration,
catering, food and drinks production amongst others..
