YOUTHS UNDERGOING SKILL ACQUISITION TRAINING AT IJEBU-ODE


 No fewer than 2,000 Youths in Ijebu-Ode Local
Government Area of Ogun State are currently undergoing a three-week intensive training on skills acquisition, to enable them to be self reliant, while contributing to the socio-economic development of the State.

The training, organized by the Necessary Measures Against Poverty and Perversity (NMAPP), in collaboration with Ijebu Ode Local Government,
at the Local Government Council in Ijebu-Ode, would focus on bread making, Catering, paint production, phone and Laptop repairs, barbing, tailoring and hairdressing.

 Speaking at the flag off ceremony, Chairman
of the Council, Arc. Gbolade Oduwole said the programme would provide an opportunity for interested youths to acquire desired skills, calling on
well meaning individuals and corporate bodies to partner with government to empower more people.


“The partnership of Necessary Measures
Against Poverty and Perversity (NMAPP) in this area of livelihood support, will go a long way to further equip more people in using their hands and
talents to earn income for themselves’’, Oduwole stated.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, Mrs. Olapeju Shote, said the skills acquisition was necessary to enable the Youths to be
independent and not relying on stipends from relatives for survival.

She said the Senator Ibikunle Amosun administration equally accorded job creation a priority, just as infrastructure, saying her office was making efforts at ensuring that youths are cater for, through various
empowerment programmes.

The Coordinator of NMAPP, Hon. Abdulrasaq
Ajetunmobi said the participants should count themselves lucky to be part of the programme, urging them to take full advantage of the opportunity, as it will change their lives for the best
