STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE, LG WORKERS TOLD
Local government workers have been admonished to be diligent and strive for excellence in the course of discharging their duties.
The Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Comrade Rotimi Rahmon,
gave the admonition during the official tour of Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area.
Rahmon said as workers of the third tier of government that was closer to the people, they needed to put in extra efforts at ensuring that people in their area not only feel the presence of
government, but also enjoy the dividends of democracy.
The Chairman who expressed satisfaction with the level of orderliness in the local government and the cordial relationship existing between the executive, legislative and the career staff of the Local Government, called for its sustenance.
"As an Ambassador of the Commission, posted
to various local government areas, we expect you to be diligence, efficient and effective in carrying out your duties. Always imbibe the culture of discharging your duties diligently and strive for excellence." Rahman advised.
In his remark, the Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local
Government, Arc. Gbolade Oduwole, said the tour was timely as it would not only motivate the staff to serve better, but would also give them a sense
of belonging and awareness that the Commission cares for them.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Mrs Feyisayo Ogunneye, commended the commission’s vision and focused leadership in the task of laying a solid and enduring legacy at actualizing the Mission to Rebuild Ogun State, at the local government level.
