Abeokuta North Local Government has been considered as one of the council areas that will have access to FADAMA III financing programme to boost farming activities in the area.
The Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government Area, Hon. Surajudeen Folarin made this known in the monthly progress report made available to newsmen and signed by the Director of Agriculture in the Local Government, Mr. Shekoni S. K, saying farmers in the council would benefit from the FADAMA fund to boost their commercial farming activities.
Folarin assured that farmers would have access to the fund as soon as they met the stipulated requirements which included the submission of a convincing business plan among others.
He further called on the farmers to avail themselves of the opportunities, stating that the council would provide necessary assistance them especially in the preparation of business plan that would boost their capital base to further enhance the socio-economic growth of the council area and the State at large.
Meanwhile, the LG Boss also said information and advisory services had been rendered to farmers in order to educate them on the danger of bush burning, as the council had also assisted farmers in the area of clearing and preparation of land for the upcoming planting season.
